Welcoming refugees to kansas city

Community's Welcome Home team is working with JVS (Jewish Vocational Services) to resettle refugee families in Kansas City. The team is comprised of 12 Community members and will be responsible for furnishing and setting up homes, welcoming arriving families at the airport and providing them with culturally appropriate meals.

The goal of the Welcome Home team is to engage in, and improve the quality of, a refugee’s resettlement by providing extra assistance, time, and material goods vital to fulfilling the needs of newly arrived refugees.

resettlement Donations

The Welcome Home team is currently working to fulfill a donation list of items needed for the family's new home. There are items of all sizes and costs, from spatulas to mattresses, so you have many opportunities to help. Donations can be brought to Centennial Hall. Please to reach out to Donna Duschen for further information.
